Exodus from Google

Today marks Day 1 of me attempting to exit Google's ecosystem.

This isn't an easy thing to do. I've been tied into their ecosystem for at least a decade. Same email address, same everything, and in 2017 I'm realizing that they basically own me. Every online service I use is tied to Google and I am no longer willing to put all my eggs in the Google basket. So today I uninstalled Chrome, created a new email account, and will slowly start to migrate my life to a company that seems to be a better fit for me.

This will be a drawn-out and painful process, but I think that in the end I will be much happier.
